Culinary Learning Vacations in Parma, Italy
June 6th, 2007If you are planning to travel across Italy this summer (or anytime during the year), get the advise from Giada De Laurentiis and come visit Academia Barilla in Parma for a few days. We promise will experience with us a truly Italian culinary experience like you have never experienced before - unless you are not Italian and have been living and traveling in Italy for some times…
The Academia Barilla Culinary School features culinary and cooking courses and classes at all levels, from beginners and groups to professional on small groups or individual basis. We also have a division that works with large groups from organization for which we create team building events where the teams build up through a culinary and gastronomic path.
We also have some vacation packages that are tailored for the gourmet travelers who plan a short trip to Italy. At Academia Barilla we call them Culinary Learning Vacations as they are the perfect balance between the hands-on gourmet cooking class and the gastronomy and food tour of one of the most beautiful areas in Italy, the Italian Food Valley in the heart of Emilia Romagna.
Our basic one-day cooking class is for those gourmet travelers who are in a rush, and basically consist of a full day of cooking class, both theory and hands-on cooking with our top Chefs, at the Academia Barilla Culinary Center. Have a look at what some of our guests and students said, in the images here below.
For the Italian food lovers who have more time to discover Parma and its treasures, I strongly suggest to have a look at our Italian Food Valley Experience 2-day cooking and gourmet tour package, which add a second day to visit the farms of local producers to discover the ancient traditions in the making of parmigiano reggiano, balsamic vinegar, prosciutto di Parma, and extra virgin olive oil.

Even better in my opinion (but it depends on your travel plans and budget) is the the Academia Barilla Experience, a 3-day full cooking and tour package where we add another hands-on cooking day at the Academia Barilla Culinary Center on day three, after coming back from the Italian Food Valley farms tours.
This extra day in the Academia Barilla kitchen is when our guests usually start feel really confident and “at home” both with the school cooking technology and with our Chefs team, and they unleash all of their creativity in cooking. A truly unforgettable Italian culinary learning vacation.
